The map below is from an article about the increase in complaints filed with OCR. Specifically the article states that OCR should be open about the number and timing of investigations at all schools. This could be the key to improving the culture of schools and decreasing sexual harassment.

Yale University
In 2011 twenty-six students filed a complaint against Yale University. They stated Yale ignored sexual harassment and that created a hostile environment. A federal investigation confirmed that their sexual harassment complaints and investigation were not handled properly. As a result changes were made, and Yale has to report its progress through 2014.

In the fall of 2013 several women filed a Title IX complaint against the University of Connecticut because of a failure to respond to their reports of harassment and assault. The victims hope that an OCR investigation will force the University to change the way it handles sexual harassment.

Carnegie Mellon
At Carnegie Mellon a student was abused by her ex-girlfriend and complained about it. But a year later she was falsely accused of seeking revenge. Finally CMU found the ex-girlfriend guilty of harassment, but the victim thought the punishment was insufficient so the victim filed a Title IX complaint, which is currently in the investigation stage.
